Life Can Change in Unexpected and Welcome Ways

Never in a million years did I think I would be moving to a different state than the one that I grew up in. I was brought up in California, and I loved my surroundings. I loved the people, lifestyle, landscape and so much more. But I was struggling with my business, and knew it was time to give up. A friend of mine does really well for himself with his own business selling real estate in Denver and loves it. I jokingly stated that maybe I should have gone into real estate, and he told me that I should move out to Colorado and work for him.

After the phone call with my buddy, I seriously started thinking of picking up and moving. I had originally thought it best to work for myself, but it was really stressful. I missed working for someone else because that means that they do most of the work, and I only need to follow orders. I called him back and told him that I had decided to do it. He was really surprised, but said that he would welcome me as an employee, and that he hoped I would follow through and come out to work for him.

I knew that I needed to be licensed in the Colorado, and you have to be in that state to take the test there. So, I bought the book that would help me take the test and studied it for a couple of months. Then, I registered to take the exam and flew out there on the day that it was my turn to take it. I flew in the morning of the scheduled test, took the test, and then flew back home. I waited for about a week and then received the good news that I passed. That was my queue to pack up everything in my house and make the move to start my new work life.
